Sarbath is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language comedy-drama television film written and directed by Prabhakaran on his directorial debut and produced by Lalit Kumar of 7 Screen Studio while creative produced by Viacom18.[1] The film stars Kathir, Soori, Rahasya Gorak and Ashvatt in lead roles.[2][3][4] The film is set on the backdrop of Chinnalapatti near Dindigul.[5] The film is based on the antics of two families, resulting in fun and turmoil in tandem. The film was directly released via Colors Tamil on 11 April 2021.[6][7][8]
Kathir will be sharing screenspace with Soori in an upcoming rural comedy titled Sarbath. The first look of the film, directed by debutant Prabhakaran, an erstwhile assistant of Balaji Sakthivel, was launched today.

I don’t fix on the genre before signing, but I am actively looking out for projects that are a little fun to be a part of. Maybe, black humour subjects.
Anbu (Vivek Prasanna) and Arivu (Kathir), in Sarbath, are two such brothers who don’t like to have face-to-face conversations. Though they aren’t eager to get into fist-fights, their mother is worried that they’ll land in trouble sooner or later. While Anbu, the older brother, is an introvert, Arivu is a hot-headed youth who’s always hungry for brawls. Also, Arivu is the person that you’ll follow throughout the film — he’s the kingpin and the mastermind.
Two slaps. One results in love, the other in enmity. These two slaps form the crux of Kathir’s Sarbath. The first is when the heroine Aruna (Rahasya Gorak) smacks the living daylights out of Arivu (Kathir). The anger in Arivu’s eyes melts away when he sets sights on Aruna, and cue… background music by Ajeesh. It is love at first slap. I could practically feel my eyes hit the back of my head. Soon thereafter, comes the second slap. One that Anbu (Vivek Prasanna), Arivu’s brother receives. This sows the seeds of enmity between two families in Dindigul. What follows is a bundle of cliches, smartly subverted by debutant director Prabhakaran.
